Tanzanite

My professor Edward Murr had done a painting demistration with water colored inks awhile back and this past Tuesday Stephen Gardner did a gouache demonstration (which note to self get gouache) on a portrait of Ian McKellen www.sketchoftheday.blogspot.co… and it inspired me to try using water colors so I painted one of the pics that I drew on the cruise that I went on earlier this year (told you guys they would get colored).

Well like I mentioned in my journal of the cruise fav.me/d736b33 I bought a tanzanite necklace and every jewelry store that we went to everyone sold Tanzanite (it was everywhere). And inspired me to draw Cassandra decked all out in Tanzanite.

I have to say doing this in water colors was rather relaxing. And I wasn't freckling out about messing up the coloring or anything I just did it and in the end it turned out very nice ( I just " let it go" XD). I'm going to try to do more stuff in water colors in the future but until then enjoy this ^^*
